Livingstone (Victoria Falls)
Located a few kilometres from the Zambezi River in south-western Zambia, the bustling town of Livingstone is
famous as the home of the magnificent Victoria Falls. One of the original natural wonders of the world, the World
Heritage Site is known locally as ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. This spectacle is accessible from both Zambia and
Zimbabwe and is an ideal place to combine game viewing and water sports. There is excellent fishing, a terrifying
bungee jump and arguably the best commercial white-water rafting in the world. Visitors can hike around the falls or
try zip lining or the bridge swing. Those seeking more leisurely activities can take sunset cruises along the river, with
champagne and snacks included, meander through the vibrant local Livingstone Market, or discover the region’s
history and archaeology at the Livingstone Museum.
Overnight: The Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel by Anantara
On the banks of the Zambezi River, The Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara is named after the legendary explorer

Victorian elegance and colonial traditions in impeccable style, and offers unforgettable adventures.
As a guest of The Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara, you enjoy the privilege of complimentary access to Victoria
Falls via our private entrance.

Other, equally memorable Africa Queen Cruises include the popular Sunset Cruise experience, the Morning Breakfast

Guided tour of the Falls
A view of the Victoria Falls is something you will never forget and the best way to see them is on a guided tour.
Discover how the Falls were formed and what local customs and traditions surround them. These tours are
extremely informative and end with a visit to the local art and crafts centre.
Livingstone Island
This is the spot from which David Livingstone got his first glimpse of the majestic falls. You can catch a boat trip out
to the Island and enjoy the exceptional view from here. You can peer over the edge only feet above the water and if
you are up for it and the water level is right you can swim in the Devil's Pool only feet from the more than 100m
plunge.
Elephant Interaction
Elephant Interaction is a 20-minute interaction with elephants. The experience includes a short introductory talk on
safety and an introduction to the animals by a trusted wildlife guide.
Helicopter Flight
See Victoria Falls from an entirely different perspective when you take a 15 or 30-minute helicopter flip over this
awe-inspiring natural phenomenon. For an exhilarating day of action-packed adventure, it’s also possible to combine
a white water rafting trip through Batoka Gorge with a helicopter pick-up from the bottom of the ravine, saving you
the arduous walk back up.
